Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is to score goals by moving a spherical ball into the opposing team’s goal using predominantly the feet. While players can use other parts of their bodies (except arms and hands) to control the ball, the goalkeeper is the only player allowed to use their hands, and only within the penalty area.

Various forms of football exist worldwide, with soccer (association football) being the most widely recognized and played variant. Other forms include American football, rugby football, and Australian rules football, each with distinct rules and gameplay. The sport is known for its rich history, cultural significance, and global following, with major events like the FIFA World Cup and various domestic leagues captivating millions of fans. Football emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness, making it one of the most popular sports globally.
